Stanlake returns as Australia bowl first in Brisbane

Paceman Billy Stanlake has been named for his first international match in more than 10 months as Sri Lanka elected to bat first in the second Gillette T20 INTL at the Gabba tonight.

Stanlake comes into the Australian side in place of left-armer Mitchell Starc, who has been granted time away to attend his brother’s wedding. It’s the only change to the XI that thrashed Sri Lanka by 134 runs in the series opener in Adelaide on Sunday.

Another fast and bouncy wicket is likely in Brisbane, but skipper Aaron Finch is having none of the suggestions of complacency as the world No.4 side eyed improvement ahead of next year's T20 World Cup.

The skipper said Sri Lanka's recent whitewash of world No.1 side Pakistan was worth remembering.

"If we can play as complete a game again, I'll be bloody happy," he said.

"But no, not at all (are we complacent); we saw last time they came here, beat us 2-1 and played some great cricket.

"They're such a dangerous side; they've just beaten Pakistan in Pakistan 3-0, they've got guys who can destroy a game in overs, with the ball and the bat."
