The Next Gen: Blake Thomson (Victoria)

Thomson has the eyes of many scouts on him, with a batting nous beyond his age. Thomson narrowly missed the mantle of ‘leading run-scorer’ at the recent Under 19 National Championships and was a shock exclusion from the preliminary Under 19 World Cup squad, all in his bottom-age year in the carnival. His ability at the all-important number three position and his consistency at the crease will make him hard to look past.
