FOUR! Nicola Carey to Georgia Adams. Length ball, Steer, Played past third man for 4 runs. The Thunder will face the Heat in the Challenger after defeating the Hobart Hurricanes by 6 wickets with an over to spare. With the ball, the Thunder took wickets in crucial moments that restricted the Hurricanes from gaining momentum through the innings. Hobart were 5/101 with 14 balls to go, but managed to finish the innings 6/126. Their captain Elyse Villani stood tall with 49 not out from 42 balls, helping her side to a respectable score on a tricky pitch. After losing Georgia Voll early, and Tahlia Wilson a few overs later, the Thunder were 2/62 at the halfway point and felt the scoreboard pressure building. But Phoebe Litchfield (46 off 36) and Anika Learoyd (23 not out) kept their cool through the middle, exploding for 28 off the 18th and 19th overs to cruise home with an over remaining. Phoebe Litchfield managed her bowlers well, took 3 catches in the field, and top scored for her team in an all-round Player of the Match-winning performance. The Hurricanes' tournament comes to an end tonight while the Thunder will take on the Brisbane Heat on Friday for a spot in Sunday's Final.
